Why your nail gun is leaking air
Where nailers leak, which leaks you can fix on the truck, and when it's a bench job.

Where it's leaking tells you what's wrong
A hiss at the cap when you connect air means the head seals or o-rings. A hiss when you pull the trigger means the trigger valve. A hiss at the nose means the safety or the cylinder seal.
Listen with the tool connected and your finger off the trigger, then with the trigger pulled. Two sounds, two different parts.
What you can fix yourself
Cap o-rings are a five-minute job with the right kit and a little oil. If you own a Metabo HPT nailer, we stock the kit.
Anything behind the cylinder is a bench job. If you don't have a vise and a parts diagram, bring it in.
What it costs
Seal and o-ring jobs are the cheapest repairs we do. A driver blade or a trigger valve is more, and we quote before we touch it.
